How To Start HideDF As a 'Service' Using the Registry
This guide is for Windows95/98/ME and will show you how to start HideDF automatically on start up without using the C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp. This is done by using the registry.
Go to "Start" then "Run" |
Open the registry by typing "regedit" in "Run" |
This opens the registry window. Click on the "+" next to the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" directory |
Then the "Software". |
Followed by the "Microsoft". |
Then "Windows". |
Then "Current Version". |
The finally you come to the "Run" key. |
Click on "Edit" then "New" and select "String Value". This places a new string in the Run key. |
Rename the String "New Value#1" to "DFolding" |
Right click the "DFolding" string and select "Modify" and type in the full path to HideDF exe. |
This is what it should look like when you have press ok. |
Now this should now automatically start HideDF on start up, which will correctly start foldit.bat. To check its progess, open the progress.txt file.
